Empowered by its faith in the promise of resurrection, the Church confronts the reality of death, consoles the bereaved, and offers thanks to God for the gift of life. These notes of grief and hope and thanksgiving sound forth in a Christian funeral service. All arrangements are to be made through the Minister of the Pastoral Charge (i.e. time, music, Organist) The Pastoral Charge Minister or designated replacement will preside at all funeral services held within the bound of the Pastoral Charge Other people may participate with the approval of the Worship Committee and at the invitation of the Minister in charge There may be a charge for the funeral service Memorial display can be set up in consultation with the Minister Lunch can be provided following the service by our Church group or arrangements can be made for another group to serve - contact the Lunch Committee Convener for details No alcohol or smoking is permitted in the Church building * Each congregation modifies these guidelines to meet their individual needs |
